Food Network celebrity chef Tyler Florence has a new cookbook on bookstore shelves this week. It's a huge, gorgeous book showcasing page after page of seductive food photography. It's almost too pretty to use as a cookbook, yet Florence's recipes are as equally tempting as the images!

The vibrant colors of the enticing food leaps off the pages. The beets and strawberries are as red as you've ever seen, as are the lush greens of the asparagus and key lime pie. You have to see it to believe it!

Roasted Cauliflower Recipe with Anchovy, Capers, and Fresh Thyme Recipe

Ingredients:

Cauliflower

• 2 heads cauliflower (preferably different colors)
• Extra-virgin olive oil
• Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper

Garlic Chips

• Olive oil, for frying
• 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
• 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
• 3 oil-packed anchovy fillets, finely minced
• 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
• 1 tablespoon salt-packed capers, rinsed and drained
• 4 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves only
• ½ cup heavy cream
• ¼ cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
• ½ lemon

• Freshly cracked black pepper
• Shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano

Directions:

1. Roast the cauliflower. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Remove the green leaves from the cauliflower and reserve. Cut the cauliflower heads in half, then into bite-size florets. Cut the stalks into bite-size pieces also. Place the florets and stalk pieces in a roasting pan, and drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast until golden and tender, about 20 minutes. Transfer to a platter lined with paper towels to drain.
2. Make the garlic chips. Pour ¼ inch of oil into a small saucepan. Add the garlic and set the pan over medium heat. Heat the oil until the chips are golden and crisp, about 1 minute. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
3. Make the anchovy sauce. Set a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and fry the anchovies, garlic, capers, and thyme, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up the anchovies and infuse the oil. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until fragrant. Add the cream and Parmesan, and bring to a simmer. Just before serving, add the roasted cauliflower pieces and fold in the reserved leaves. Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice, and top with the fried garlic chips, cracked black pepper, and shaved Parmesan.
4. Serves 4 to 6

Tyler Florence is coming to Dave's Marketplace in the Providence, Rhode Island area on Friday, December 7, 2012. His new cookbook, "TYLER FLORENCE FRESH", hits book shelves everywhere Tuesday, December 4.

I was fortunate to receive a review copy of Tyler Florence's brand new cookbook "TYLER FLORENCE FRESH" by Clarkson Potter Publishers. BASIC WHITE BREAD LOAVES RECIPE: TWD Baking with Julia — Julia Child That is!

This easy WHITE BREAD RECIPE comes from the cookbook "Baking with Julia" (Child) by Dorie Greenspan, and is the very first Tuesday's with Dorie recipe... the second edition!

Some of you may remember me baking along with this group a few years ago way back in March 2008. WOW! Has it really been that long? I had to take some time out to write a cookbook for Penguin Publishing—an Idiot's Guide at that! (Yes, I know. It was a shamelss plug!)

I figured I was ready to get back to baking with the Tuesday's with Dorie group again, until I found out they were done with the book "Baking: From My Home to Yours." They spent the last 4 years baking through that cookbook!

That's OK though. They were starting up a brand new group baking out of the new cookbook, "Baking with Julia." If you don't already have the cookbook, I strongly urge you to buy one for yourself. It's a huge, heavy, and pricey hardcover cookbook, but totally worth it! See all the TWD recipes I made in the past here.

White Rolls and Nutella Buns

Since I didn't need two large loaves of bread right now, I decided to make nice soft white rolls out of the dough instead of big loaves this time around. This worked out perfectly as I made them on Super Bowl Sunday and we used them for little sandwiches. Check out the Nutella Chocolate Hazelnut Sticky Buns we made with the other half of the dough!

OK, I should confess here. John helped me make the dough. We have a shiny new KitchenAid mixer, and he wanted to be the first one to try it out by making bread dough. Besides our son John, BIG John has always been the best bread maker in the family, so I let him have his fun! I should also tell you something else while I'm at it. I'm using my cell phone camera for these shots. I apologize for the way they came out. Although I've had the phone since August, I'm still getting used to the camera. I should go back to taking photos with my good camera! Anyhoo...

The dough came together nicely, rose nicely, and baked nicely. John was totally impressed with his buns! The finished rolls were soft and tasted good, and although I'd rather have a little more taste, I think it's a good choice for an everyday bread. (I might add a pinch more salt the next time.)

The book looks so amazing, so many terrific ideas for cupcakes, which our family definitely loves! I make them at least once a week, and also really enjoy making them for special occasions, and theme-decorating them. Chocolate and golden cupcakes with buttercream icing are my traditonal flavors, everyone likes those. Martha's flavors look amazing - spice, chai, stout, hummingbird...Too many to list.
