Tuesdays With Dorie
I'm a bit late again. I swear we need to change the name of this event to Thursdays With Dorie! I'm sure that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, but I don't think I'm the only one trying to keep up. Lately, I've noticed a lot of bakers not baking, or baking and posting late. Maybe it's just me, but I suspect that baking for TWD, or any other baking/cooking event every week is beginning to wear thin on some people. Either way, Here I am with my Chocolate Chunkers Cookies!
Chocolate Chunkers
Claudia of Fool For Food chose Chocolate Chunkers on page 70 of Dorie's book; Baking: From My Home To Yours. You can also get the recipe by checking out Claudia's blog! However...Claudia is not from the USA and the recipe is hard to follow. She tried to write it in English, but some ingredients and measurements did not translate well. If you'd like to make these cookies - and you really should, they're that good! - email me at [email protected] and I can translate and get you the correct measurements. I can't copy the recipe for you, but I'll give you the general idea!
I changed a few things to take advantage of what I had on hand. This recipe is loaded with all kinds of expensive chocolate, so I suggest you either make 1/2 batch of 12 cookies, or suck it up and just buy the chocolate, nuts and raisins! I used butterscotch chips, walnuts and regular chocolate chips. I was able to cut down on the price a bit by doing this. Like most cookies, they were really easy to make, super chocolaty delicious and outrageously sinful! That said, you'll need to have a glass or two of milk with these babies!
Check out the rest of the Tuesdays With Dorie blogroll and see what everyone else is up to!
Glad you tried these! I'm a "Thursdays" with Dorie member too, some weeks. It's hard to fit everything in. Most weeks I'm glad I did, though!
