Tuesdays With Dorie Chocolate Chocolate Cupcakes
Clara - the infamous CB to the rest of her peeps - has chosen Chocolate Chocolate Cupcakes for this weeks Tuesdays With Dorie recipe. If you have the book, Baking: From My Home To Yours, you can find the recipe on pages 215-217. If you don't own the book, you can swing on over to Clara's blog I Heart Food 4 Thought. It's really no surprise that Clara picked cupcakes, as that's her specialty! Check out her other blog called
I Heart Cuppy Cakes where she shows off something awful! Clara is a hoot! Good for her!
Dorie Greenspan's Chocolate Chocolate Cupcakes
I didn't stick with Dorie's recipe completely this time. After all, it's Halloween Friday! So, I decided to make buttercream frosting along with the chocolate ganache and decorate them for the holiday. I made the chocolate cupcakes and sank a mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in the batter before baking. Then I cut up regular size and mini Reese's PB cups and made them into bats with wings. I rolled the edges in Halloween colored sprinkles. I used Dorie's chocolate ganache for a few of the cupcakes, and used it for decorating too.
Not So Scary Halloween Cupcakes
BOO!
THEN, I put the rest of the orange frosting along one side of a large pastry bag, and the rest of the vanilla buttercream on the other side. I used a large star tip and piped the frosting into swirls. When they were done, the cupcakes looked like big Orange Dreamsicles!
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
I was pleased with all the cupcakes. John and Brad loved the ones with the hidden Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. The rest of the cupcakes will go to the marina guys tomorrow. I buy them off with goodies! I think it's working!

Love the Reese's bats! And lovely presentation, as always.
