Summertime Peach Desserts
Tis the season for peaches and what better way to celebrate the harvest than to make something peachy! I've been really busy compiling and publishing a number of my peach dessert recipes through Suite101 the last month or so. Since you don't really get to see some of these recipes or photos on a regular basis (Suite's copyright laws), I thought I would bring them to you!
These recipes can be put into your favorites folder for use whenever you want to make a yummy Peach Pie, emailed to a friend or print it off. Everything you need is at the bottom of the my Suite101 article/recipe page in a green box. There's even buttons if you'd like to Stumble or Digg my recipe too! But remember, the only thing you can't do is cut & paste and then repost on the web (again, copyright issues).
So, here's what I've been up to for the past months!
Baking With Fresh, Frozen & Canned Peaches - Before you start with any of the following recipes, make sure you read this article first. It has lots of useful info such as; When is Peach Season? How Many Peaches are in a Pound? The Difference Between Freestone & Clingstone Peaches, How to Peel Fresh Peaches, and much more.
Homemade Peach Pie - This was one of our best summer sellers at the bakery! Made with fresh ripe peaches in my own Flaky Pie Crust. Speaking of which...
How To Roll a Pie Crust Without a Rolling Pin - This is for all you wine drinkers out there who don't own a rolling pin. Or, who choose to drink your wine as you're rolling pie crust!
Peach Crisp Recipe - Just like the beloved Apple Crisp, this super easy crisp is made with fresh ripe peaches and buttery brown sugar crisp.
Southern Peach Cobbler - Go all peach for a traditional cobbler or use the basic recipe and make your own specialty. This is delicious with added fruits such as cherries, blueberries and plums too!
Rustic Free-form Peach Galette - Use my Flaky Pie Crust recipe to make this beautiful dessert. Don't let the looks deceive you. You don't have to use a pie pan or flute the crust! It really is that easy!
Peach Shortcake with Buttermilk Biscuits - Homemade buttermilk biscuits with fresh sweetened whipped cream complimenting fresh-from-the-tree peaches. It doesn't get much better than this!
Peach & Blueberry Muffins with a Brown Sugar Streusel Topping - A nice quick & easy muffin recipe that you can vary with fruits in season.
Vegan Peach Almond Muffins - For my vegetarian and vegan friends!
Don't forget, you can find most of my current Suite101 recipes on the left hand side bar...LOOK, over there...on the left!

Every one of these recipes look like a winner to me. I miss the peaches in PA. NC does not grow sweet peaches like they do in PA. And the sweet corn here in NC is nothing like my father in law grew on his farm in PA and sold at a little roadside stand. I miss it.
